It was unreal during the riots.
My commute at the time brought me just around the city into South Mpls bordering on an inner ring suburb of Edina.
The smoke plumes from the 200 burning businesses along Lake St. and University Avenue, areas closer to the city were visible from 40 miles away. It lasted for days. It looked like the area was strafed by jet fighters.

While shit was burning just 20 blocks north of the house we were remodeling, the trendy high income area of Edina was in relative peace, with people going about their daily routine. It was surreal. My wifes uncle has a shop near Lake St. that got vandalized.

The riots were confined to specific areas, but every store in every inner ring suburb was covered in plywood.

Then after the police shooting in Brooklyn Center, with that cop who thought she had her tazer, some of those same areas were hit again.

Walz fucked up the entire response and the City Council was tripping over itself to virtue signal instead of condemning the businesses lost, many which were minority owned.

The city giving a settlement of 27 million during the trial only assured a guilty verdict.

Just watching a repeat of Cops the other day and there was a cop using the exact same knee on the back as Chauvin did on a white dude. It was a trained police tactic to control a suspect.

The only consolation is the idiot taxpayers of Mpls. who voted those clowns in, get to pay that bill.

You can bet the family wouldn't give up a single cent of that money to get their precious Floyd back.

Living 45 miles away, I am making it a point to never see it.
I was born in South Mpls, but fled to the exurbs years ago.
I pass through the city a lot, but never stop. Simply no reason to and I will spend my hard earned money in the red counties just outside the tard zone.

I lived in Northeast Minneapolis from 1995-2001 working for United Healthcare. The city at that time was clean and safe and I would say moderately left politically at the time. St Paul was a little more left.

It certainly seems like times have changed.
