Lebanese military was basically on standby during the civil war. They did not take sides and did not participate, the air force was completely grounded so they could not be used to attack their own citizens.
South Lebanese army and later hezbullah armed in the south but at the end of the civil war all militias were supposed to turn in their arms. Hezbullah has only allowed the army, gradually, to function in the south since the 2006 conflict. 8 yrs later and hezbullah is not only still armed but have moved some of syrians weapons, including chemical, into Lebanon. They should have disarmed and allowed the Lebanese army to fill the void. They certainly should not have entered into syria's conflict, nor should they be supported financially by iran if they want to be a Lebanese party. Should the green party be funded by saudi?

Syria is supposed to come clear with their chemical weapons. Iran is supposed to come clean with the nuclear program. It is long past time hezbullah come clean with their weapons and let the army take care of it's border. If fly overs are a problem, Lebanon's air force can intercept, wave good bye to them and escort the Israeli to the border. We used to play chess with the russian pilots. We'd mirror them, exchange moves and each returned to their base. It was just keeping us on our toes, not a threat of any kind. US satellites look down on just about everyone. If Israel don't have eyes in the sky over Lebanon, a flyby is just making sure hezbullah don't make any threatening movement toward Israel. Israel is not attacking Lebanon and if Lebanon wants, they can talk to Israel and complain, not hezbullah.

Sunni's and Shiites are the ones killing each other in record numbers on a daily basis.

for the past 1400 years-----even if only by murdering each other. In their relatively short history
they have managed to murder in the hundreds of millions and they do it with great pride in their
skill and inculcate their children with a LOVE OF BARBARITY. The glorification of murder is
reflected in their "art". Several years ago I attended an exposition of "muslim art" which was
sponsored by the Saudi Arabia embassy. ------it was fascinating-----one highly ornamented scimitar
after the other. The few examples of figurative art featured idiot looking generic arabs astride
horses----waving scimitars. It was quite a display of vulgarity but reveals a reality that so many
people strive to trivialize. I was fascinated by the women present who were EAGER that their infant
sons get the full impact of the "glory of islam"
