While the FBI has become something of a bad joke under the Dems / Marxists, the agency has had little interest in throttling its miscreants who abuse the FISA system. When the carnival barker Chris Wray was asked about FISA being used to spy on Americans and asked about agents using the system to snoop on spouses and girlfriends, all Wray could say was "mistakes were made."

Trump's biggest mistake was thinking that a) Wray was different, and b) that being different, he would change the culture of the FBI.

He needs to pick a head of a large state bureau of investigation, and get the FBI back in the business of law enforcement and out of being politically motivated intelligence operators. Leave the skulduggary to the CIA, who is trained for it. They don't execute search warrants, nor threaten people's children with indictment in order to get them to flip and turn state's evidence.

The secretive nature of the CIA actually will protect people from the kind seven year plus smear campaigns that the FBI has conducted on Trump, Trump allies, and Trump supporters.

The felony committed by lies on the firearms application was not an FBI issue because Bidens lackeys in that agency had no intention of crossing the crime syndicate whose name begins with "Biden".
