So which is it? No one wants EVs and they are in a “death rattle” or EVs are the future and everyone who can afford an EV will buy an EV?

For the record, I am all for tariffs to protect our EV industry. Clean energy vehicles are the future and we need to protect and develop that industry.

The threat is to US auto companies that go all-out for electric cars such as GM and Ford have done

Both companies are neglecting ICE autos and ceding the market to foreign brands based in Europe, Japan and South Korea

So, in context (as any intelligent adult would require, obviously), this Chinese executive has a long history of dishonest, aggressive, hyperbolic, apocalyptic comments that have captured the minds of millions of Chinese people, with a history of literally inspiring them to actually commit violence against the Chinese government?
