Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell are none too happy with Donald Trump and his tariffs toward China, along with the rest of their Congressional cohorts.
In 1996, on the House floor, Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) gave a speech highlighting America’s trade imbalance with China stating,
“How far does China have to go? How much more repression? How big a trade deficit and loss of jobs to the American worker? And how much more dangerous proliferation has to exist before members of this House of Representatives say ‘I will not endorse the status quo?’” Pelosi touted.
However, Nancy has long since repudiated those words saying, "China has long since proven me wrong about the trade imbalance which Mitch and I fully support today because they have proven themselves to be a powerful ally and friend of the United States. Just look around the House chambers and you will see 99% of everything has a made in China sticker. Everything you see here in House chambers is owned or was owned by China at some point in time,...................um...............er...............except us of course,.............ha, ha, ha, ha.....................ha. Just because we get money from them in no way means they own us. Why would they give us these things unless they love us? Look at the trade imbalance reaching around a trillion dollars every year as a type of reparations for the Chinese people for the systemic xenophobia America has shown the Chinese people in the past. Mitch and I have long since recovered from the xenophobia that prevented us from embracing equity and inclusion towards the Chinese people. Obviously, Trump has not."
Mitch McConnell then got up to speak as well stating, "Nancy and I agree that........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................." Frozen in time for the millionth time, Mitch was escorted off the stage. It is not known if Mitch will retire once again, only for real this time.
