It's not like people from Hong Kong can go to mainland China and fight.

Hong Kong will not go quietly, and China gets a lot of money from Hong Kong producing. They are serious about that extradition thing over there, and then some. Furthermore, it's almost all of the citizens in Hong Kong. This ain't no riot with criminals, it's an overwhelming majority of the population.
