Buried clause could tag films, TV shows as porn

WASHINGTON -- Tucked deep inside a massive bill designed to track sex offenders and prevent children from being victimized by sex crimes is language that could put many Hollywood movies in the same category as hard-core, X-rated films.

The provision added to the Children's Safety Act of 2005 would require any film, TV show or digital image that contains a sex scene to come under the same government filing requirements that adult films must meet.

Currently, any filmed sexual activity requires an affidavit that lists the names and ages of the actors who engage in the act. The film is required to have a video label that claims compliance with the law and lists where the custodian of the records can be found. The record-keeping requirement is known as Section 2257, for its citation in federal law. Violators could spend five years in jail.

Under the provision inserted into the Children's Safety Act, the definition of sexual activity is expanded to include simulated sex acts like those that appear in many movies and TV shows.

Now i have no love for these hollywood idiots, but this is the begining. They go from sickos making hardcore child porn in their basement, to guys taking pictures in public of fully clothed people, to TV shows and movies with vague references to sex with underage actors on the screen. That is a very far stretch already. It doesnt take much more for them to stretch it too any kind of porn is outlawed and then from there they can then define what porn is. Porn could be showing a good looking woman in a tight pair of jeans. Porn could be all Victoria Secret's ads. Porn could be the Sears bra and panty page in your local newspaper. Where do they stop?

I'm sure people think im crazy but trust me. If you let the government take an inch, they'll grab a mile, then they'll demand the next 10 miles from you as if it was already their birth right to have. Soon standard citizens will be criminals for nothing more then staring at a good looking woman at a gas station pump her gas. All in the name of protecting the children.

Just use the laws we have and make the penalties for these laws more stringent. Don't change the verbage to include a broader definition of "sexual acts."
