Good to see Indiana win
I’m tired of the same schools winning every year

The best part is, just like Bobby Knight, Cignetti specifically picks players that have the right attitude over how many stars they are ranked by. He would not recruit a #1 player unless that player shows he will 100% sign on to how he coaches.
Just like Bobby Knight - he creates championship teams without big recruits.
As a sports fan - you have to love that.

No, not me.
There were not one, or even two - but three critical pass interferences that absolutely could have resulted in an IU score. Those are not "let them play".
Like I said - there is a difference between letting technicalities and mild interference etc. and let the game be played .... and allowing players to openly maul each other that makes a successful play impossible.
NYT wrote about it, ESPN wrote about it, yahoo sports wrote about it.
Across the board people are saying the game was officiated with clear bias.
IU got away with some holds and a couple PIs as well. The two most significant non calls were not PI. There was a hold on Miami that opened that gaping hole for Fletcher to get his 56 yd TD run. And the targeting penalty that wasn't called when Mendoza was drilled on his chin and knocked backwards off his feet. So if you want to call that bias for Miami, yeah I can see that.

The Miami QB is a little *****. He ran off the field and didn't shake the other QB's hand.
I can't exactly picture his face in my mind but from what I recall he has resting douchebag face. Now I will go find a picture to show you what I mean. Like, he's not the good guy in karate kid type.

It's in the eyes. If he's your QB you like him, otherwise he has a very punchable face.

Grow up...

Carson played better this year, but I still think he grades as a Saturday Draft pick...

I'm here in Fort Lauderdale. My cousin and his wife have season tickets. They didn't go to the game. $4000 a ticket? So they went to a bar with all their friends. His wife said you watch Miami is going to cover the spread and they did. She's a conspiracy theorist so I just told her the next day she was right. Whatever. Let people believe what they want to believe. Who am I?

AKA once again the biggest game in the richest sport has a deluge of obviously terribly wrong calls....

embarrassing and inexcusable.

No one is remembering it that way.

Mendoza completed seven of his first 10 attempts for 70 yards in the opening quarter and wasn’t sacked

Then

Mendoza lowered his pads into a defender, spun in a full circle, used his hand to keep his balance, then launched himself horizontally and reached the ball over the goal line — an Indiana touchdown and a ready-made poster pic

Mendoza’s TD gave Indiana a 24-14 lead barely enough breathing room to hold off a frenzied charge by the hard-hitting Hurricanes, a team that barely made the College Football Playoff and barely showed up in the first half of the final before coming to life behind 112 yards and two scores from Mark Fletcher.

Indiana would not be denied.

“I had to go airborne,” said Mendoza, who had his lip split and his arm bloodied by a ferocious Miami defense that sacked him three times and hit him many more. “I would die for my team.”

Boy, I'd love to watch some of this game but it's on ESPN and not broadcast channels. I think it's a bad move. Baseball does that kind of thing also. A lot of people don't want to pay for ESPN. I am one of them. The only way to get ESPN is through a cable package or a streaming cable package.
Then you can go somewhere to watch it, it is your decision just as it is college football’s desire to make the most money and get great rating by being on ESPN. I don’t have ESPN either so I just go to a nice sports bar and watch.

I can't believe here in Fort Lauderdale they didn't put it on a local channel. I watched the first half with my 96 year old uncle. I knew he didn't want me staying till the end so I went back to my brothers condo where we have rabbit ears and NO ******* GAME? Fortunately I have sirrius radio on my phone and the Detroit Piston's were on. And we beat Boston!

Eventually, you're going to get mad too. Last year my friends called me a cheapskate for not getting netflix when WWE Monday night raw went to Netflix. I said **** that. Should I go to his house every monday? I don't think any bars are playing Monday Night Raw. So eventually something you like is going to go bye bye. Like the Superbowl.

I hate these netflix, disney plus, paramount plus, etc. Are you ******* kidding me?

Used to be the NFL was on the four major networks

Now, you have to pay for ESPN, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, NFL network
Setting us up for Super Bowl being pay per view

I have to admit, someone I know will get it. Or if I'm sitting at home, I might buy that. And I NEVER order movies on my TV. Ones that you have to pay for? But I might order the Super Bowl for $80. We have to pay their obscene salaries.

I posted before the game to wamose that the +8.5 spread was a lot for a championship game. The spread on Draft Kings went to +11.5 when IU went up 10-0. I made a small bet for grins then and about 5 minutes later Miami opened a big hole for Fletcher via a hold and he got his longest run of the year for a TD.

Why will I get mad? I enjoy where we go to watch games, nice dinner, great atmosphere, gigantic screen, I really like it.

A nice sports bar is on my sofa with some beer watching the game with the Mrs. and the boys.

OK I'll go there. I'll be the arsejack.. Less than 2 min left, IND driving inside the ten? Up by THREE points.

CIG the Great doesn't let them go for 4th down. Plays were Conservative on 2nd 3rd downs perhaps?

The genius makes them go for the FG. OK it forced MIA to go for a TD, I sat on the couch wondering, that was not much help?

It left the door open from the 30 or 40 vs. 95 yds? MIA could have hit that pass as the guy in the middle of the field appeared "late" getting over there. The CB was dragging behind.

Tough decision. The genius survived. I guess he trusted his defense?

You are not the only person that noticed that - believe me.
Cig was extremely angry with all of the missed PI calls - perhaps enough that he was afraid Mendoza could throw the perfect ball - but a mauled receiver can't catch it.

I was rooting for Indiana. Their final drive had me very comfortable until the false-start on the 2&1 with 1:56 left in the game. Before the penalty I figured another 1st down was on hand at that point would at least get another 30 seconds off the clock. Instead momentum was lost and when they were held to a field goal I feared the culprit offensive lineman would go home feeling like a field goal kicker that lost the game on a missed gimme attempt.

Compared to many NFL games I thought the College refs do much better overall.
