Hey, my State just went to $15 an hour minimum wage and I can see many small businesses closing. None of them can afford to pay that much and the larger companies will just pass the cost onto the consumer. Not a good idea at all.

Then you're talking about a business with no employees or no (or very little) capital. For somebody that wants to open up a beverage store, they got to pay for the licenses, rent a building, hire workers, have heat and AC, pay taxes on their building and property. They have to save tens of thousands of dollars with little backup money.

I'm a landlord. The only labor I hire is professionals to take care of my heating, plumbing or electrical. But even when I first bought this complex, it was touch and go for several years. At the beginning when unexpected costs came up, I didn't know if I was going to make it or not either.
