Catholic Bishops Issue Scathing Release Calling Biden‘s Contraception Claim ’Not a Fa

Romney spoke softly in a quiet back room. His message was he only cares about 53% of America. I believe him.

And if that is what he actually said then you would have a very good point.

he claimed this month that his budget plan, which slashes antipoverty programs, was inspired by the moral teachings of his Catholic faith.

The latest criticism comes in a letter released Tuesday and signed by nearly 90 faculty members and priests at Georgetown, the Jesuit university in Washington, in advance of Mr. Ryan’s visit there on Thursday

“Your budget appears to reflect the values of your favorite philosopher, Ayn Rand, rather than the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” says the letter, which the faculty members sent to Mr. Ryan along with a copy of the Vatican’s Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church — “to help deepen your understanding of Catholic social teaching.”

They sent him a copy of the Vatican’s Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church. Ryan hates the poor. Most Republicans hate the poor. Many Republicans ARE poor but aren't smart enough to know they are the very people Ryan hates. How do we know he hates poor people? Because of his love of Ayn Rand.

Jesus never said anything about using Ceaser as a a medium for taking care of the Poor. Jesus limited Ceaser his due but demanded more from his flock to give to the Church. Where and how does Obama fit into this unless Obama and his flock believe he is the Messiah?

"The Obama administration made a decision to fully exempt religious institutions such as churches from this rule. It also said it will exempt religiously affiliated organizations such as Catholic schools and hospitals, but their insurance providers must still cover birth control with no out-of-pocket costs for the insured."

Washington Post

This is a case of both sides being correct.

Ryan publicly lied to Catholic Bishops. He lied. We have to video to prove it.

What does this have to do with the original thread? Start a new one with this social gospel crap

Catholic Bishops.

Helping poor and middle class Americans is now "social gospel crap". Got it.

Seriously....you are one strange dude.

Oh, you mean the Catholic Bishops who work for the Catholic Church that Biden claims support Obamacare?

Link?
Certainly!

In response to Ryan’s accurate charge that the HHS Mandate under ObamaCare forces religious institutions to violate their consciences to pay for services their faith opposes, Biden claimed the following:

With regard to the assault on the Catholic Church, let me make it absolutely clear. No religious institution—Catholic or otherwise, including Catholic social services, Georgetown hospital, Mercy hospital, any hospital—none has to either refer contraception, none has to pay for contraception, none has to be a vehicle to get contraception in any insurance policy they provide. That is a fact. That is a fact.

Nothing could be farther from the truth. Indeed, one might ask Biden if Georgetown is not being compelled to pay for contraception, then what exactly was behind the ruckus about Sandra Fluke’s complaints about the university’s refusal to do so. Biden’s claim was not only an offensive falsehood, it was a stupid one since even his liberal supporters know that is what is happening.
And what did the Catholic Church have to say about it?
This is not a fact. The HHS mandate contains a narrow, four-part exemption for certain "religious employers." That exemption was made final in February and does not extend to "Catholic social services, Georgetown hospital, Mercy hospital, any hospital," or any other religious charity that offers its services to all, regardless of the faith of those served.

HHS has proposed an additional "accommodation" for religious organizations like these, which HHS itself describes as "non-exempt." That proposal does not even potentially relieve these organizations from the obligation "to pay for contraception" and "to be a vehicle to get contraception." They will have to serve as a vehicle, because they will still be forced to provide their employees with health coverage, and that coverage will still have to include sterilization, contraception, and abortifacients. They will have to pay for these things, because the premiums that the organizations (and their employees) are required to pay will still be applied, along with other funds, to cover the cost of these drugs and surgeries.

Biden lied.

The Catholic church should kick him out for lying on TV about Obamacare in regards to forcing Catholics to accept abortions and contraception.

He might think twice about lying again if they drag him through the mud for the public to see.

I agree with you 100%! He's a disgrace as a Catholic.

The Catholic Church does not make public excommunications.

Why would anyone care about your religious convictions when you show no regard for others? Tell me with all your wisdom. Even quote your old jewish book of fairy tales if you want.

For all of you Independent Mid-Westerners and New Englanders, let this be a warning that this ticket of Obama/Biden don't have the first clue about any Judeo/Christian value, not one. God was kicked out, boo'd by the entire Democrat Party. This is not the same Democrat Party any longer. It has been hijacked by radical Marxists, Homosexuals.. Remember that when you go to vote..

As compared to the lies that most deeply religious people spout off about, really. Your conviction to "truth" is not subject to question. And the candidate that sat opposite of the Vice-President should not be held to his lies about religion.

So that makes Biden's and Obama's lies okay...how, exactly?

I was actually looking for a link to the "Biden says Cathloic bishops support the ACA" claim, as I already stated that both Biden and Ryan are correct about the ACA contraception claim.

Georgetown faculty is NOT the Catholic Bishops, pinhead!

So we're back to this again?

You wingnuts lost this one, remember? If an employee's paycheck has the Catholic Church as the payee then the church isn't compelled to have birth control be part of the insurance plan. If the Catholic church is NOT the direct employer of someone, the employer, regardless of affiliation with the church, can't get out of the mandate. At least one court has already said so.
