Carter confirms Chavez survives vote
His monitors conducted a quick count at polling sites and the results were "almost exactly the same as the results" provided earlier by the National Electoral Council, Carter said at a news conference.
Since Carter says it, it must be true!

Isn't it interesting that Carter has "called" the election before the Venezuelan
government has?

I guess the dems have put their "stamp of approval" on this socialist.

Opponents accuse him of steering Venezuela toward communism and of riding roughshod over the nation's democratic institutions.

What I find amazing is that the electronic voting machines in a third world banana republic provide a printed verifiable audit trail, which is not available here in the states. :wtf:

In the USA, elections are LOCAL events. It is up to localities to implement voting systems. Not the Federal guvamints.

ID System Said to Delay Venezuela Recall Yep Bully. They have a REAL sophisticated system!

Maybe THIS is why we have not yet adopted such a system!

Yeah besides i dont think having the government know exactly who votes for who is rather wise in any government especially one run by a tyrant who would kill anyone named who voted against them.

From what I understand, they haven't officially called the election yet because of problems. Only the MIGHTY Carter has.....

You know, I hope the "inspectors" coming here don't think they are going to have the right to call OUR election. What makes Carter so special that he can "call" their election?
