Capitalism gone mad -- and as usual it's the middle class who got screwed. This is why houses are unaffordable.

He would have lowered tariffs on countries that send us lumber and nails. He would have started building affordable housing.
Trump has never built an affordable house in his life

Someone said if Trump really was serious about fixing America for the middle class, he wouldn't have slapped tariffs on everything raising prices on the very people he claims he wants to help.

I'm scared to give Trump the idea because I can just imagine how much of a kick back he's getting from the company tearing up the East Wing. I'm sure the Don gets a piece of that racket. So if Don told us he was going to build affordable housing, I'd worry what the final price tag would be to the US tax payers.

The new White House ballroom project is costing approximately $300 million

I mean come on! What the **** is costing $300 million dollars? I could build an entire ******* amusement park for that much.

Lumber would be more affordable if we used more US wood, instead of importing wood.

The greentards won't let us.

:slap:

Sorry Dumbass
But illegal aliens are not buying up all the houses
They aren't buying up all the houses.

But what they have done is drive up the demand for housing and lessened the supply.

And as you learned in economics, when that happens, the prices go up.

You're already destroying the environment enough. You want to cut down all the trees too? My god you Republicans are pure evil idiots.

Lumber would be more affordable if Trump didn't tariff imports from where we buy our lumber. Probably Canada?

What's going to happen to housing prices as Baby Boomers die or retire and sell their homes to move into smaller condos? I saw a thing on the internet the other day that said housing prices are going to fall when this happens.

If you own a home, that's not good? I think my condo is worth $150K. It's on a lake. Will it only be worth only $100K when I retire in 7-10 years?

Yes, for the first time since April 2021, there are more unemployed people than available jobs in the United States, with the number of openings falling below the number of unemployed workers.

I remember this was true when Bush was president too. For every 20 people looking 1 job was available. And Republicans back then said the economy was great too just like they are saying now even though we all know things are bad.

And who's fault is this?

China has purchased zero soybeans from the U.S. for the current marketing year, primarily due to high tariffs resulting from ongoing trade tensions and retaliatory policies. This marks the first time in at least seven years that U.S. soybean imports have fallen to zero, causing significant challenges for American farmers.
Last year, China bought approximately $12.6 billion worth of U.S. soybeans

What is a leftist children? LOL You know you are in dumb land when words control thought.

BlackRock is just one of many companies that buy up homes in bunches. They come into neighborhoods buy up houses above comps. Local scarcity can also encourage bidding wars between individual buyers driving the price above asking price.

Two trillion-dollar deficits. Housing used to be a need with a roof over your head, and it was the dream. Still is, but it became an investment also. So, if a commie wins New York and gets his ideas into reality, purchasing a row home/twin in the boroughs at those prices is not worth it. People who purchase those homes 15 years ago or so and longer or own them will not feel it as much. Over the last couple of decades and longer New Yorkers have moved out of the city even down to lower Eastern Pennsylvania and trave to work a couple hours each way every day. The Southern Jersey Shore beach towns can be nasty at times now from visitors from there also now.

I know. I love to see them suffer. I drink their tears.

And what pisses me off is Trump will bail them out and all will be forgiven. So in the meantime, **** those patriotic Red necks, white trash and blue collar idiots.

Their kids can’t afford the house their parents bought at their age
I sold homes for sellers for over 50 years. Actually, the myth is it used to be easy. But even back then people said what you said. A lot of kids get help from parents.

"capitalism-gone-mad-and-as-usual-its-the-middle-class-who-got-screwed-this-is-why-houses-are-unaffordable."

I wanna make a couple of points regarding this. Capitalism is an economic model, not a governance model. It generates the most wealth and prosperity by far than any other economic model, and that being the case capitalism also generates the most opportunity for fraud and inequality of wealth distribution. Those who would advocate for a different economic model should realize that in so doing they are accepting an economy that produces less wealth and prosperity and a lower standard of living that may not actually reduce fraud and inequality. No matter what economic model you have, you're gonna have the super wealthy and the super poor and the relative numbers for that are dependent on your form of government rather than your economic model.

The other thing is that capitalism does not regulate itself; that is the responsibility of government to ensure that no one gets screwed. Those who would denounce the evils of capitalism are actually bitching about the failure of their government to adequately do its job. Admittedly that is not an easy task to fulfill, you don't want to limit the potential for economic growth but at the same time ensure fairness and justice is administered without favor or prejudice. As we know, politics gets involved and pretty much ***** things up. But I repeat, it is not the responsibility of capitalism to do that, that's what we have a government for.
