Narcissists can be successful leaders or they can be disaster leaders. So what?
Some of the best most effective CEO's of all time have been narcissists.
I know a guy, he's an actual biological psychopath, and he's also an MD and a professor of medicine in the UC system. He is "high functioning". He makes valuable contributions to the field. Not everyone likes him. If you ask him about it, he says "yeah, I'm kind of an asshole". lol (not, but yeah)
If the goals of the organization are the same as the narcissistic leader, they can be very successful.
If the goals do no align, they are a disaster. They pursue their personal goals over the goals of the organization.
Trump's personal goals did not align with the goals of our country. Trump wanted to increase his personal power and wealth over the many goals to make the US a successful country.
As long as the US had separation of powers, it would limit Trump's personal power. Trump fired people in the judicial branch that challenged him and tried to put in yes men who would not challenge his power. He tried to weaken the legislative branch by trying destroy any legislator that challenged him. He tried to over ride our elections by calling them rigged if he lost and not rigged if he won.
He sided with Putin over our own institutions making the US look weak. He would not say negative things about white supremacists because he wanted their vote. It made the US look bad. On and on.
Trump the narcissist was a disaster as President
