Becoming white meant losing their greenness, i.e., their Irish cultural heritage and the legacy of oppression and discrimination back home.”

I'm black. I know a whole lot of black folks from accross the country who don't.But blacks celebrate the 4th of July.
But that still doesn't remove the fact that blacks were neither free or independent on 7-4-1776.
