Canada and Mexico come to the Table: Two Countries Concede on Tariffs

I don't care what that says and if you weren't watching in the first 15 minutes he said first of all 25% on ALL imported auto's don't know if that also means parts like was originally planned.
I don't give a shit I bought a new car 2.5 years ago. It was fully made in S. Korea

Pretty sure they had talks that didn't go anywhere.

How did the Dow and NASDAQ respond in 45?

They had NOTHING. Trump just tore up his 2018 Agreement with Canada and Mexico and decided to put tariffs on Canada and Mexico because he thought he could.

Trump has already put a 25% tariff on Canadian steel and aluminum, softwood lumber, and potash. Those tariffs have NOT been lifted, and until they are, we're still boycotting American made products.

We've been developing other markets since the last time Trump was in office.

Looks like Trump has to your attention.......

How did Canada charge us higher tarrifs than we charge them and why have they coalesced if they were playing on a level field?

ask donny. unless of course he's lying to you.

Canada earlier today agreed to drop their tariffs on American goods when America does.

Big tough Canada. They will never succumb! :71:

Folded like a cheap suit. Canada is Trump's bitch.

Like you said, they should be made to drop tariffs first then double our tariffs if they ever raise theirs again.

shockedcanadian

As for Trump being a bully, not at all, he is simply being time-effective in getting others to listen who have abused us for 30 years who wouldn't have listened any other way.

All Trump had to do was go and speak to Canada and Mexico, but he did it Trump style, an abrasive dick method.
If a little chat is "all" that had to be done, why didn't Biden do it four years ago?

Canada earlier today agreed to drop their tariffs on American goods when America does. While I appreciate the sentiment, America should only accept that with a proviso of snap-back tariffs that are double the original.

Mexico agreed not to impose any additional tariffs, instead choosing to negotiate. Here, the US should demand that Mexico drop all its tariffs on American goods in exchange for America dropping its, with similar snap-back provisos as Canada's.

The take?

While I'm not the biggest fan of Trump, he won here. They caved. However, the tactic he used to begin with was tantamount to being a schoolyard bully. It was extremely unsightly. Short-term disaster, long-term gain, if you could call it that. There are more honorable ways to step on the throats of your competition.

Fuck off retard

trump, the stable genius, has the Dow futures down over one thousand points and the NASDAQ down over 4% with his tariff idiocy.
The gambling halls of Wall Street don't represent Main Street.

Looks like parties haven't been following that if Canada has been screwing us on the level playing field.

Canada has been selling you oil at 25% BELOW market prices. How is that "screwing you"?

Trump has complained that Canada charges 8% Goods and Services Taxes on the sales of all American goods and calls that an "unfair tariff". Canada charges GST on ALL retail sales in Canada. This isn't a special tax on American imports.

That's wonderful but wouldn't it be better for US workers if it was built here?

wouldn't it be wonderful if donny stopped using sweatshops to manufacture his cheap shit & bring it all here to be made in the good ol' USA?

Obviously we’ve had decades of being honorable, which means suckers, and it hasn’t worked. Sometimes you need to be ruthless to get these assholes attention. Trump does that role perfectly and I don’t give a shit who’s feelings get hurt over it.
