Canada earlier today agreed to drop their tariffs on American goods when America does. While I appreciate the sentiment, America should only accept that with a proviso of snap-back tariffs that are double the original.

Mexico agreed not to impose any additional tariffs, instead choosing to negotiate. Here, the US should demand that Mexico drop all its tariffs on American goods in exchange for America dropping its, with similar snap-back provisos as Canada's.

The take?

While I'm not the biggest fan of Trump, he won here. They caved. However, the tactic he used to begin with was tantamount to being a schoolyard bully. It was extremely unsightly. Short-term disaster, long-term gain, if you could call it that. There are more honorable ways to step on the throats of your competition.

Being nice we've tried over and over again... it was time for a bully...

It hasn't been very honorable they way they've been fucking us for decades.

Canada did not have material tariffs on the US in the first place. They had a free trade agreement with the US.
The fact that Canada agreed to drop their tariffs on us is direct evidence that they were tariffing our goods.

Use your brain for once.

Maybe, but I won't endorse the practice as a matter of honor.
If you know anyone collecting a check and benefits for any reason and notworking, maybe you should have more support so this can continue.

All Trump had to do was go and speak to Canada and Mexico, but he did it Trump style, an abrasive dick method. What he says is normally right, but his personality means he has to be a prick about it.

Actually, I collect benefits, and so does my grandmother. But we didn't sacrifice our honor and integrity in the process. She lives on how she was raised, and I live on how she raised me.

Being a dick is usually not a bright idea.

America, when properly run, does not let two-bit nations dictate to us.

Being a dick seems to be all they understand because they had their way with us the past four years and decades before that with only a four-year hiatus during Trump's first term.

We no longer have a globalist in the WH and the sooner lesser nations come to terms with that the better it will be for them and America.

Trump is giving his speech at the moment and has not said anything about this, in fact he just imposed a 25% tariff on all foreign auto's.

Because they haven't agreed in principle, like civilized nations do. It's called "not getting ahead of the story."

I am not accusing you personally, in reality there are people who earned it, and physical and/or psychological issues affected them. Real issues not bullshot. They collect less than those who are privileged and others who have sued. There are people who worked their lives in private and public employment and get one third in social security and living half the way as those who worked one or the other. Earning those benefits is a huge difference than not earning it. Pay us all.
