Can you add to this list of reasons to build the wall?
Reasons to build the wall
1. Most of the 70,000 accidental drug overdose deaths in America every year are attributable to our lax Southern border. We lost 58,500 Americans in Vietnam over 17 years. We lose almost that many Americans every year because there is no border security.
2. Illegal aliens commit thousands of violent crimes and nonviolent crimes, including rapes, injuries, accidents and homicides in America every year
3. We can't save them all by bringing them here. Watch the Gumballs Immigration video.
4. The savings on entitlements spent on them per year would be considerable. Figure $90,00 for each of the 10,000,000 - 30,000,000 illegals currently in our country.
5. Democrats voted for border security under Bush and Obama, so why not Trump?
6. The wall could pay for itself in about ten years from the entitlements savings.
7. The Democrats want illegal aliens to be made legal and then be given voting privileges so they can increase their chances of winning elections by selling out their country and countrymen by allowing these people with lower educations and an inability to speak English to become legal voters.
(Arguably criminal behavior.)
8. A country is defined by it's border, laws, language and culture. Take one of them away and we lose our country.
9. And that is the ultimate goal of the Progressives. The collapse of our country so they can rebuild it in THEIR vision.

1. According to the CDC and the DEA the #1 cause of drug deaths are from PRESCRIPTION OPIOIDS. That has grown over 500% in the past decade and the single fastest growing cause of death. Which the wall does NOTHING to impact. According to the DEA, "Controlled Prescription Drugs (CPDs): CPDs are still responsible for the most drug-involved overdose deaths and are the second most commonly abused substance in the United States." in their 2018 end of year report.
Fentanyl is the #2 cause of drug overdose deaths and "Clandestinely produced fentanyl is trafficked into the United States primarily from China". Also it mentions that the cause of death is how strong it is based on purity... "Fentanyl is transported into the United States in parcel packages directly from China or from China through Canada, and is also smuggled across the SWB from Mexico. Large volumes of fentanyl are seized at the SWB, although these seizures are typically low in purity, less than ten percent on average. Conversely, the volumes seized after arriving in the mail directly from China can have purities over 90 percent." and that Fenatnyl from China "poses a greater risk to the purchaser/user and can be adulterated many more times." than from Mexico. So once again, the 2nd leading cause of death is heavily caused by area's the wall has no impact on.
On to #3, Heroin. According to that same DEA report "The majority of the
flow is through POVs entering the United States at legal ports of entry, followed by tractor-trailers, where the heroin is co-mingled with legal goods" That's right, the best study completed on not where it is being caught, but where the flow is actually at says the wall isn't the solution (sounds like a recurring theme huh?)
And #4, Cocaine. Same DEA report "The majority of cocaine entering the SWB in CY 2016 flowed through the San Diego corridor (6,578 kilograms or 49.8%) and the Rio Grande Valley corridor (2,646 kilograms or 20%) (see Figure 61) at legal ports of entry." Wow.... again wall is your less effective option.
And #5, psychostimulants. Spice and Synthetic Marijuana and such. Where that DEA report said "Wholesale quantities of NPS are usually trafficked to the United States via commercial mail carriers from China"
So what Trumps DEA is saying is that the worst idea for stopping the 5 deadliest drugs that make up 95% of all drug associated overdose deaths is building a wall. Now I could see why El Chapo and his cartels along with the illegal drug makers in China and Big Pharma would LOVE for us to put our attention at this wall, so they can continue to bring their drugs into the US unimpeded. The question is why do you want to take away funding that could instead be used to more effectively end overdose deaths?
As for #2, immigration from the Southern Border is at a 45 year low. Why are we focusing there and not after the companies rewarding illegal immigrants for making it into the US. Sure it would cost the blue collar vote, farming and construction. Sure we would have to hammer down on the owners of places like Mar-A-Lago, Trump golf clubs, and Trump resorts. But we go after drug dealers in the US. Why not go after those who turn a blind eye when hiring illegal immigrants for decades? According to Trumps DHS, the majority of illegals aren't coming through random desert in the border, but overstaying visa's and coming through Ports of Entry. Why are we turning a blind eye again to the #1 reasons unless it's to make sure those owners of resorts get their staffing to build their empire? So why not target the issue allowing those illegal immigrants to be in the US and commit those crimes rather than build a wall which DHS says won't solve it?
As for #5 why Democrats supported these but no longer it's simple. Trumps DEA report shows the facts, that the open border area's are no longer the issue (outside of Canada, which is the mentioned as the top border entry for the #1 foreign made deadly drug). Fencing has been built across the area's most heavily used and changed the issue to Ports of Entry (along with prescription overdose). Why would you intentionally want to fund money to the place where your own data says "this isn't the problem?" and ignore the things they say is? If he wants to use Mexico to pay for it and not put that cost on the taxpayers, fine, no waste. But if he wants to use taxpayer money for something his own DEA says isn't the solution, that seems like something they shouldn't support right?
If the Military got the data and issued a report saying the biggest thing we need is better IED proof vehicles, why would you want to make your stand for getting them umbrellas instead?
Again and again we see that sure, a small number of these issues happen where these walls will be built. But it's like being on a sinking cruise ship and deciding to keep people alive you want to focus on feeding them so they don't risk starving rather fix the leak. Stop the flood. Then worry about the trickle. Unless you want to keep the flood but just make it appear you are doing something about it.
