As far why blacks are always mentioned as being on the plantation, I think that saying speaks more to the democrats and their history when it comes to how they've treated blacks in this country. The way youre taking it is it's insulting to blacks to suggest they're not thinking for themselves, and there are some conservatives that are saying that, but I think mostly the term is used as a disparaging remark towards the democrat party in their relationship with blacks.
