We need to eliminate the SS tax donut hole and begin means testing for benefits. The concept of shared sacrifice needs to be reintroduced to the American people or the US will enter a spiral of accelerating decline.

And actually, if you leave out the earnings of the Trust Fund, Social Security started collecting less than it pays out in the mid 2010s.
