Vice President Kamala Harris has pulled even with Trump on the issue of who would best handle the economy, after Trump had decisively led President Joe Biden on the issue.

Inflation in the United States and many countries in Europe and Latin America surged in the economic recovery from the pandemic, as COVID closed factories and clogged supply chains. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine worsened energy and food shortages, pushing inflation higher. It peaked at 9.1% in the U.S. in June 2022.

Trump seems to still be winning on the immigration issue. This is because voters don’t understand that the crises at the border in 2023 is the direct result of the ending of Tittle 42 in early 2023, not border policy or enforcement. The end of Title 42 brought massive numbers of migrants to apply for asylum. In 2024 Biden issued executive orders that have reduced the border encounters by 77% from the Dec 2023 peak.

The number of border encounters in Aug. 2024 were down to 55,000. In the fiscal year 2019, 3rd year of the Trump Admistraion and just before covid hit, there were 81,400/mo.

Trump has no grounds for his attacks on Harris over immigration or the economy.

I would do what every other President did or would do with a strong man corrupt murderous evil dictator like Vlad. He's an adversary. Perhaps we will do better with the next leader. Until then, sanctions and no trade.
