We were getting ready to take our kitty to the vet this upcoming week because she kept sneezing. We thought that it was really strange because she didn't have any other symptoms and she is currently the only pet we have. Then she had a hairball this morning and now she appears to be just fine and the sneezing (at least for the time being) has stopped. We're going to keep an eye on here obviously, but I was wondering if any other cat owners had an experience with this.
Is your cat a strictly indoors cat, or do you (like many do) allow your cat out to "roam" ?
It could make a big difference as to the sneezing.
Is there any mucous? If so ..is it green or yellow? If neither, probably not an infection.
Have you changed to a different litter?
Have you introduced any new foods?
Did you start using home scent/aroma oil diffusers or anything of that nature?
Used any kind of saw inside the cats living area? (Don't laugh, I've done it)
New laundry detergent?
New cat beds?
(100's of reasons for cat sneezing)
Generally, if your cat is still eating normally, still peeing normally and still pooping normally then it's probably not serious. (usually, but there are exceptions of course)
The fact that you care for your cat enough to make a vet appointment over the sneezing is a good sign of a happy cat with a good home.
Oh...generally, having or coughing up hairballs doesn't usually cause sneezing as best as I know.
Sometimes (usually) it's just a dust bunny or something they got in their noses.
