I love this series. It has such heart and kindness. Four seasons are availabe. I recommend it highly.

It's set in London, East Side, in late 1950's. A group of nuns and lay midwives live together in Nonnatus House, and operate a midwifery service during the baby boom years.
 
That sounds like something I might enjoy.

I loved the HBO mini series Mildred Pierce.

I agree! I look forward to Midwife on Sunday nights because it is a one-hour escape into an extremely comfortable time and place. It is another British series I will profoundly miss when it ends.

So did I. Partly because Kate Winslet is a captivatingly beautiful woman, even in the played-down, un-glamorous role of a doting, hard-working mother.
 
Yea, is pretty good...

... right up there with Downton Abbey...

... and Mr. Selfridge.
