Immigrants have less than half the crime rate of citizens.

In a republic, government has ZERO authority of its own.
It only borrows delegated authority from those it protect.
Since the public does not want strict immigration laws or enforcement, government is protecting no one, and is being draconian instead.
Originally there were no immigration laws at all.
The immigration laws that were passed, are to slow down immigration and that is all.
We are all descendants of immigrants, so if there were no birth right citizenship, none of use would be citizens except the native Americans.
The Constitution gives all authority on immigration to Congress, and none to the executive.
ICE is way out of control.
They are not following the laws like on requiring a hearing to obtain a search warrant before a raid is legal.

We happen to have a Constitutional republic as our form of government. And the Framers tried to accomplish many things in the process of crafting our Constitution.

One of the things they didn’t seek was a government that couldn’t work at all. Institutional constraints? Sure. Checks and Balances? Sure. Some authorities absolutely denied? Yep.

But such devices still were part of a plan to create a government that functioned within its limits. There was no effort to accommodate anarchy by the people.

These Democrats inspired mobs actively interfering with the law enforcement officers of our nation (and their efforts to enforce our immigration laws) is simply unacceptable. It’s criminal.

They are authorized to protect themselves. Nothing more. Since they have been Federalized, they fall under the same law that the Active Duty troops do.

The Posse Comitatus Act states that: Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both. 18 U.S.C. § 1385.

The military cannot engage in law enforcement acts. They cannot make arrests. They can shoot invaders though.
