High speed rail is the future, no wonder the Reactionaries seek to regress and keep the internal combustion polluters, and pull more oil out of the ground creating man-made earthquakes.

Lincoln got the Transcontinental R.R. going during the Civil War, in the days before greed and fiscal conservatism opposed major projects.

How much and how well did the Trillions $$$$$ of Dollars benefit our country, when spent to invade and occupy Iraq, and continue the war in Afghanistan? In fact we will continue to spend money to treat the thousands of men and women wounded physically and mentally (PTSD) in this war of choice well into the 21st Century.

They needed to start out with something reasonable, not IDIOTIC. Obama is not from California, he didnt know what the hell he was doing pushing for that, other than scoring political points, because yes, we all know HS rail is the future.

Problem here is when they come to the grapevine, ( mountains above the central valley) , they cant run the rail over the top, and if they try to tunnel through, they have the San Andreas Fault line to deal with. People are going to have to get out and take a bus for a good portion of the trip then get back on the train again.

This particular train isn't really even going to be High speed as it was sold to everyone, they are using the wrong kind of track. Its going to go slower. None of the details were thought out by the politicians who decided to take taxpayer money to pay for it all. Its just more contempt for you and me from the people in Washington, who decide what is best.
