C4 'Vette advice

Natural Citizen Aren't you the C4 guy?

I'm shopping for one and I was hoping for some tips.
Well I'm not a C4 guy, per se. I just happen to have one. I'm actually kind of bored with it now and just casually shopping around for a sorted C3. Though I'll still keep the C4.

If you're seriously interested in a C4, though, I'd go for a ZR-1.

Every model year of that generation has its own quirks, though.

There's a C4's for sale section over on the Corvette Forum in the C4 sub-forum. Those are generally well sorted cars being sold by users just looking to move onto a different generation.

I wouldn't buy one unless it was well-sorted, though. They're a money pit otherwise. I've put around 17,000 bucks into the one I bought seven years ago, and that's doing all of the work on it myself, not counting what I paid for it initially and then having it shipped up from Florida. Of course, that was pretty much all just arbitrary restoration, getting it back to fresh off the assembly line condition. Or as close as I can get it to that anyway. For me it's mainly just a hobby.

But they are fun to drive and good '80s and '90s nostalgia.

Are you looking for a track car or just something to cruise around in once in a while?

Just a toy. The 996 has reached completion and I need something new to tinker with

Oh, I see. Yeah, that's all these old cars are anyway. Just toys. You should join up on that board. It's not a political board, so I don't think it's against the rules here to recommend since it's not a politcal board. It's the largest vette board in the world. It's huge. And a lot of very, very knowledgeable people on there. A lot of people have found the vette they're looking for by joining up and asking questions. That's the place to ask em, for sure. Hit me up over there if you do. And you just never know who you're gonna run into over there, which is one of the cool things about the place. And it's better to talk about it there than here anyway. You're a car guy, so you'd fit in nicely. There's a lot of Porche owners on there, too, beside just owning a vette. Which I mention because I know you've had a couple and have one now.

Americans don't know what their missing on EV's, I've seen a lot of cool Chinese made EV's in the past 3 months. My favorite is the ORA, but there are a lot of other brands. I've done a lot of miles in an MG, these cars have great performance, the ORA goes over 550 km on a single charge. These are just 3 of my favorites.

You can buy a brand new Lumin for $12,000. Be a good work car, goes 300 km on a single charge.

ORA

MG
