Ever watch Penn & Teller's show called Bullshit on Showtime?
For those who haven't, it's a show where Penn and Teller staff a
team of elite researchers to debunk common misconceptions.

They've exposed many frauds on the show and covered such topics as

Recycling
Bottled Water
Yoga
Excersise vs Genetics
Love
Alien Abduction
War on Drugs
Hypnosis
and the last one I saw was over THE BIBLE!!!! It was very interesting.

Now I will say this, Penn & Teller are known Atheists, but it's hard to
ignore the facts they brought up. They are literally bulldogs for the
truth in every subject they cover. I would encourage everyone to
at least watch it for entertainment value, although you might learn something.

I've seen quite a few "debunkings" of the Bible, but none that have ever held water.

Would one more hurt your faith???
To me, there are alot of "facts" in the Bible that don't hold water.

They actually strengthen my faith. As someone somewhere said once, faith is the abandonment of the will, not the abandonment of the mind. As I have yet to see a debunkment that actually stood up, I am more and more convinced of the truth of Christianity.

My suggestion would be to open a thread in the R/E forum.

I would have but I wanted to draw attention to the show as a whole.
Hadn't planned on starting a debate. I figured that show topic would
grab enough attention for people to watch the show.

Yes, seasons one and two are both out now. Season one is probably pretty cheap now, it's been out for a while. Sometimes you have to look a little bit for the season one set because it has the show's name displayed very proudly on the front and spine, so it's hard for, say, Wal-Mart to just have that sitting on their shelves.

sounds like the Myth Busters----I like them too but gonna look for the DVD!

I've never seen it, but I've heard many people talking about the bottled water episode. Apparently, they filled bottles with water from the hose in the back of a nice restaurant, then gave free samples to the diners, who ended up wanting to pay big money for bottles of the water.

well, Evian=naivE

the bottled water companies probably DO fill them with a hose...or at least just regular tap water.

all water comes from the ground, thus could easily be dubbed a 'spring'. the earth doesn't make new water. it is all recycled in the eco-system. chances are that the water you are drinking from that Evian bottle was in someone (or someTHING) else's body in one form or another...

If you live in Florida, it's basically a necessity to drink bottled water, their water's nasty.

Truth is, I drink bottled water, not often, but I do prefer it.
