I don't know how the rest of you feel, but I for one when I buy a ticket to go see a performer, band, play, whatever, I am not paying to see their political rants on display....

First off, tickets like these can range anywhere from $350 per seat, all the way to $1,000....And for that kind of money I need to hear their TDS on display?

Now, I am not a fan of Springsteen, and wouldn't consider seeing his show, but none the less, lots of people are fans of his music, not necessarily his political thoughts....He should just shut up and sing.

The thing about performers is you get fooled by their persona, but in the end they are leftwing artists.
Sam Elliot is a perfect example. You think if someone has a voice and they play a tough gritty fellow, they have to be conservative. You can't believe they're pansy leftgwingers in real life. Springsteen is that way.

Maybe my age is showing?

I remember when I was much younger. It was a time when brand tags were discretely sewn into the inside of clothing or you would get a free t-shirt because there was bold advertisement on the front of it. Eventually that changed to paying high prices to own a t-shirt or hand bag with brand names dominating the item.

Are you telling me that it will cost anywhere from $350 per seat, all the way to $1,000 to listen to political propaganda? As I said, I must be showing my age because it seems to me that conducting political rallies ought to be paid for by whatever party is trying to gain members.

I hate to say it but this is John Lennon’s fault. He started this crap of pop artists making political statements on public display. Let that moron Springsteen rake in a few million dollars from his groupies (I don't care) but with any luck, Springsteen’s concert will turn into a free-for-all clash of drug-induced street gangs on the perimeter of the rock stage venue and all attention will be diverted to that instead.

I disagree. Jane Fonda's contribution was in line with saving innocent lives and putting a stop to an illegal war. She risked her career and she didn't say, "Pay me first". Springsteen is an asshole - cheeks, hole ... the whole thing. He has no talent and the only reason anyone knows who he is was the PR stunt of him being a Vietnam Veteran. In a large sense, Springsteen and Fonda are (yes!) alike in that they both made anti Vietnam-war statements. But now look at what he is doing. He is slandering the man who is trying to put an end to war in Ukraine. I sincerely have no idea what Trump is doing about the war in Palestine so I'll leave that for others to comment. Anyway, Fonda achieved something good ... Springsteen (a know-nothing) is just an opportunist looking to secure a gazillion dollar nest egg.

The only good band he ever had was his very first E Street Band, when David Sancious was on keys.

David and drummer Jerry Carter quit his band cause Springsteen was such an asshole no one wanted to work with him.

David went on to have a notable solo career, and played with the likes of Sting, Clapton, and Jeff Beck.

In lyrics is one thing, cutting into concert time with political speech is not what concert attendees pay for. I’d be making this exact same statement even if his political views were in line with mine.

You are missing the point. Performers cut into time they could be singing or other interaction with the audience besides pontificating. He has plenty of a platform outside a concert to deliver his commentary.

It’s his enterprise and he can do what he wants. Same with other performers.

In a 3 hour plus Springsteen concert you are not deprived of the music.
You are also going to get commentary some of which will be social or political
