So??? what are the comments he made?
All I can see is that an intoxicated Brit is being told (very politely) that he gets arrested due to some comments he made on Facebook.

This post is just a waste of time - a typical Trumpfter and or a Lefty/Lib post.
Aka - political radicals trying to stir emotions via unsubstantiated bull.

So you're ok then with arresting someone who made disparaging comments on social media?

Shameful, but there is no freedom of speech in Britain.

An armchair THUG posted HATE comments over several days and had to pay for his crime .
Or ,do some think it is OK to behave as a Bully and a Thug and send vile posts ?

Team GB likes to have standards of Decency that others respect .

I feel sure that even Americans would like that said about themselves .

Is it "respect", or is it 'fear'?

How do you know that the comments he made - are/would be disparaging/derogatory, and not inciting open violence or terrorist acts?

Does it matter exactly what he said, when we know the law itself makes it punishable even if his comments were not inciting? That's ok with you?
According to the 'Communications Act of 2003' they could be just simply 'grossly offensive', and it could get you charged with an offence.

Section 127 of the act makes it an offence to send a message that is grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character over a public electronic communications network.

In the UK or e.g. Germany,
a disparaging/derogatory comment/remark doesn't get you arrested but maybe fined - whilst inciting violence or a terrorist act, will get you arrested, fined and in addition very likely imprisoned.

As such it is of great importance - as to what exact remarks/comments the old man made. Before simply judging.

Europeans handle such matters far more aggressive/harsher then the USA - if you look at the many derogatory and offensive comments here on USMB - more then half of the people here on USMB, in a European forum, would have been banned for life - a long time ago.

The mods here defend their "tolerance" or "lack of action" via, we are an American Forum so we consider/evaluate such occurrences in view of "free speech".

Aka the Wild West on one side of the Atlantic - and the civilized East on the other hand :)

Kind of a pointless story until we know what the comments were.

I'll take our '1st Amendment' over what you guys have any day.
I have a feeling many years from now as the Islamists take over and undo the freedoms the Brits currently have, the old timers that are left, will be wishing they had spoken out years before.
