British crime...at the point the U.S. was at in the 1950s?

In the 1950s gangs in America would use knives on each other......as their violence was slowly growing.....in Britain today, gangs are stabbing each other all the time and instead of stabbing in the lower extremities, they are now stabbing to kill......and with the increase in guns on British Streets...are they about to see a spike in violence the way the U.S. did in the 1960s........which didn't go back down until about the mid 1990s?
