Depends how you define competent. I've worked with so many incompetent white folks who were friends with the boss, related to the boss, or fucking the boss.
Probably if I were hiring, I'd hire a bunch of Chinese and Filipinos... then I'd know the work would get done.
Chinese, for the most part these days, seem to end up as spy's working with the government.
Most do it to serve their country out of pride, being proud to be an American.

Really? Funny, when I signed up in 1981, most of them did it to pay for college. Some signed up because they had no other prospects in the Shitty Reagan Economy. A few were there because it was an alternative to jail in whatever Jesusland county they had the bad luck to live in. (The latter is supposedly illegal now.)
Again, the problem here is people aren't signing up for perpetual war now.
This is why the Armed Forces have to keep lowering the standards and keep lowering the number of active brigades or combat wings or ships at sea.

I think you are a little confused.
When Jimmy Carter left office, Unemployment sat at 7.4%. On Reagan's watch, it would peak at 10.8% in 1982, because Reagan kept on a crushing system of high interest rates to bring inflation down.
That's something to crow about? When Reagan left office it was what, 4%.
But it was Jimmy Carter who appointed Volcker as the Fed chair, in 1979. Volcker was appointed specifically to do this job, as he was known as an inflation hawk, and Carter recognized inflation as America’s biggest economic problem. Volcer hiked interest rates all the way up to 17.61% under Carter, causing the first of the two Volcker Recessions in 1980.

A low level experienced, former Biden White House aid, who only had 500 hours of flying over the years and maybe hadn't flown in several years, allowed to pilot that flight in a high traffice area.
The Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast was off in the chopper, Sen. Ted Cruz said.
A key safety system was off in the U.S. Army helicopter that collided with a plane near Washington in January, a senator said on Feb. 6.
The Black Hawk helicopter had turned off its automatic dependent surveillance broadcast (ADS-B), an advanced surveillance technology to track aircraft location, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told reporters after a briefing with officials from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
“This was a training mission, so there was no compelling national security reason for ADS-B to be turned off,” said Cruz, who chairs the Senate Commerce Committee.
ADS-B systems in general require federal aviation authorization, although authorization is needed to conduct more advanced operations using the systems, according to the FAA. ADS-B systems are permitted but not required for military aircraft.
