Breaking News. Plane crash in DC. Collided with either helicopter or drone over Potomac.

You have to consider altitude and ground lighting as a possible contribution...........this BS the aircraft was all lit up totally visible is questionable. Lots of background lighting from the ground.
You've flown as pilot a lot at night, have you? Not only do all aircraft have landing lights turned on at night, but they ALWAYS have flashing beacons on both wingtips and top of rudder (vertical tail fin). They are highly visible at night.

I don't kiss anyone's ass. That's YOUR fetish.
Oh yea, you do.
I do however help these young folks gain their wings.
What folks have you helped gain their wings.
You flap your gums and beg for handouts.
Was it a handout when Jews rec'd them?

Was it a handout when Native Americans rec'd them?

Was it a handout when Japanese Americans rec'd them?

Nope. A highly qualified young man who thinks you're an idiot. There are all sorts of programs out there to help young people of color to obtain their pilots licenses. Young girls too.

But, it's hard. And they are cut no slack. If they earn it, they have EARNED it!
Earning something is a lot like math-racist and whites are too good at it and that’s not fair

No, the Japanese had their land stolen from them, and THEY WERE STILL ALIVE you fucking retard!

That narrative is fact. DEI brings into question the capability of anyone who not a white male.
That is unavoidable logic. One of the inevitable downsides to hiring quotas.

Either you misunderstood or you're putting words in my mouth. I wasn't arguing about DEI, I agree that hiring based on anything other than competence is left-wing nonsense. When I said "narrative" I was talking about what is behind all these recent crashes. Or are you claiming that the cause of these crashes is a proven fact?

So 90 hours behind the wheel a year qualifies one to fly in the dark in a crowded airspace where jets are 30 seconds from landing at a difficult airport?

Scary shit.
Actually she had more than triple the numbers of hours required, and double the number of hours recommended.

And 90 hours a year comes out to about the same for fighter pilots with the ANG.

Air National Guard members fly one weekend a month and two weeks a year as part of their paid training. In addition, active flyers and rated officers receive 12 flying periods per quarter, or 48 per year, to maintain flight currency.

Same with the Jews. They got (minimal) reparations for suffering through the Holocaust, losing their immediate family members, having their property stolen, their livelihood destroyed, and living the rest of their lives with physical ailments.

Superbadracist has enjoyed special privileges for college admissions, job hiring, and promotions his entire adult life - and he’s still crying for “reparations.”

So the argument from the left is that everyone involved was 100% correct and no one made a mistake?

That seems pretty dumb to me.

By definition, people fucked up.

Either ATC or pilots or both.

Certainly the figure skaters did not fuck up.

We know all the identities of those on the Blackhawk.

Terrible tragedy and may victims RIP.

Both the pilots, AND the ATC screwed up.

???

The helicopter was heading southwest, most likely back to Ft Belvoir, just downstream a couple of miles from their current location. All approaching traffic would’ve come from their left and airport lights would be to the right. No need to look to the right at all.
So they're on approach at 150mph or so and they only look in one direction?
It was reported the helo was well out of where the should have been plus out of the altitude ceiling.

Upon landing, the focus is almost entirely on the runway. However, so much is automated that clear weather provides for a lax approach. The helicopter was not in any odd location as far as my experience goes. I see aircraft flying around national almost daily. The altitude was the only real anomaly.

Isn't a 747 one of the heavies?
Not sure, never tried to pick one up.

  • High-end simulators:
Professional flight training schools with high-fidelity, Level D 747 simulators can charge significantly more per hour, often exceeding $1000.

DC is not NYC and from the river the only substantial lighting is to the west.
The videos show significant lighting as one is climbing out and the other gets clipped..... directly below. It could be a factor.......the helo wasn't where it should be both position and altitude, see what NTSB has to offer.

Its been reported the helo was above their ceiling and way out of where they should be operating.
Altitude would be the only violation. That area is not very expansive so as long as their altitude is correct there shouldn’t be any conflict. Based on the video it appeared as though it was heading back to Ft Belvoir. Nothing unusual about that.

DEI as policy and a risk.

Ok, and I was saying, that's not what I was talking about. I wasn't arguing about DEI as a policy. When I used the word narrative I was talking about DEI as the cause of these recent crashes or scares. You said that the narrative is a fact. To that I replied "are you claiming that the cause of these crashes is a proven fact?"

Anyway, this is getting tiresome. But I just wanted to clear that up.
