Breaking News. Plane crash in DC. Collided with either helicopter or drone over Potomac.

What about the lives of US military?

you people have no shame.
The Pentagon doesn't give a damn about the lives of the US Military. When I joined the US Army back in the 60s, one of the first principles explained to us was that each and every soldier is expendable. It wasn't a threat, it is the heart of military philosophy.

In Vietnam they sprayed the countryside including troops with Agent Orange. In Bush's Global War Of Terror they used depleted uranium around the troops and injected them with an anthrax shot that didn't even work. 20 years later the Pentagon ordered everybody to take a toxic serum. The lives of US military are expendable.

Which had nothing to do with this crash.

Air traffic controllers are 75% white and 85% male.
Actually, it did. ATC positions are understaffed nationwide.

Without exception, every time I get curious about what someone replied to a deranged Trump-hater on my Ignore List, and click to unblock the deranged Trump-hater, such as JoeB131 or TommyTainant, said to provoke a rational person, I read the most head-slapping, ignorant trash, confirming the sound reasoning for my putting deranged Leftists on IGNORE. If more of you would ignore these individuals, it would clean up the USMB tremendously.
I do exactly the same. And every time I get curious, I’m immediately reminded of why they made ignore. Almost like that definition of insanity of repeating the same failure and hoping for a different result.

In my experience, there are many locations around the country where staffing is reduced in the evenings, for the simple and obvious reasons that the traffic load is reduced around that time. The tower and ground control are handled by the same guy. It's been going on for years.

In August 2006 Comair 5191 crashed on takeoff in Lexington KY in the early morning. There was only 1 guy there, and he did not notice in the dark when the Comair flight taxied to the wrong runway and then took off. Too short, everybody died.

This is clearly the fault of the helicopter pilot. It violated the 200’ altitude restriction. And it doesn’t take long for a chopper to ascend an excessive 200’ before ample warning can be issued. It only needed those 200 extra feet to line up with the jet’s altitude.

The helicopter pilot who told the controller he had the (wrong?) airliner in sight, and the controller who failed to vector the helicopter AWAY from the landing airliner.

Well you'll never be able work for a federal agency after posting that.

Flashback: Biden's first FAA nominee accused of being DEI hire after he couldn't answer any aviation questions

.....
President Biden's first pick to lead the Federal Aviation Administration was a disastrous choice when it came to possessing actual knowledge about aviation and regulations.

In 2023, Biden nominated Phillip Washington, CEO of the Denver International Airport. Washington eventually withdrew his nomination after being subjected to questioning from senators like Ted Budd (R-N.C.), who revealed that Democrats may not have been focusing on merit when it came to who leads the country's airspace.
...
With the country concerned about the hiring practices of the FAA, the video of Budd questioning Washington showed just how unqualified the nominee was for a position as important as director of the FAA.

"What are the six types of special-use airspace that protect this national security that appear on FAA charts?" Budd asked Washington at a confirmation hearing.

"Sorry, Senator. I cannot answer that question," Washington replied.

Budd repeatedly asked other aviation questions: "Okay. So what are the operational limitations of a pilot flying under basic med?"

"Senator, I'm not a pilot. So ..." Washington answered.

The nominee soon attempted to provide some examples like "high blood pressure," but Budd interjected to let Washington know the question actually had nothing to do with medical restrictions.

"What altitude you can fly under ... amount of knots; it's under 250 knots. So it's not having anything to do with blood pressure," Budd explained.

In a video of the exchange that received over 1.3 million views, Washington mentioned that he was not a pilot multiple times, even when Budd asked a basic question like, "What causes an aircraft to spin or stall?"
....
At the time, comments from viewers poured in about Washington being a prime example of diversity, equity, and inclusion hiring practices.
...
"DEI = didn't earn it, below [is a] simple example of this," another viewer said of Washington's responses.

"DEI will always be dangerous and objectively a disaster wherever it’s deployed," another critic said in response.
...
The nominee was then replaced by Biden's second choice, Michael G. Whitaker, a former deputy administrator at the FAA.

Whitaker ended up resigning just 10 days before the D.C. crash in 2025, but his intent to step down was announced in December 2024.
.....
Yes
The dummy did not know how lift is created to allow planes to fly

He wasn't fired, he resigned on Jan 20 after announcing it in December.

He was confirmed with a vote of 98-0 unlike the Trump trash like Pete Dregseth and Trash Patel being confirmed now some of whom need Vance's tie breaking vote to squeeze through.

Don't expect to be taken seriously when you didn't even know that the man voluntarily resigned, like all trumpanzees you just make up bullshit and even believe your own bullshit so why not correct your moniker to: slies ?
The poster I was responding to claimed he was pushed out…

Not surprised the gop is far more bipartisan than the Dems trying to block any nomination…they can’t accept they lost

Glad to hear he wasn’t pushed out and left on his own accord

Did they, well pushed out doesn't mean fired.

If the GOP are bipartisan, why are they siding with Trump in the confirmation of lunatics? clearly they are all lackeys and spineless.
Glad to hear he wasn’t pushed out and left on his own accord
Now we just need to watch Jerome Powell, I suspect Trump will fire him.

He couldn’t of been pushed out by Trump in Dec when he wasn’t even in office

Haha because the demafacist way is lunatic, the people elected Trump

Maybe we shall see

Sherlock Holmes I guess not so stupid as to think a political appointee is gonna keep their job after the politician that appointed them loses

Musk and Trump didn’t push him out, the American people did

If you had done your homework and studied the information provided by David E. Martin 5 years ago, you would know that the planning for this began long before Trump came on the political scene.
Next you will claim that trump gutting the FFA was also planned way before trump.

And trump started the Afghan withdrawal, but of course a suicide bombers decision falls completely on biden...... Right?

Does trump EVER make a mistake?
