Breaking News. Plane crash in DC. Collided with either helicopter or drone over Potomac.

The head of the FAA was pushed out by Musk because he wanted to fine Musk companies.
The freeze on hiring kept pressure on the air traffic controllers.
Trump is just trying to cover his ass for what his own administration did.
He was pushed out because he was a bezos lackey.

He was speculating wildly without evidence on an incident where none of the facts are clear. And he did so for nakedly political reasons

Unpresidential
He was just talking about DEI hiring practices.

Thats reality

If minorities were equally represented they would be equally represented

We have examples of lower standards for minorities

The firefighters in New Haven Conn for instance

Do I have to remind you of that?
Or just aggressively pursue higher recruitment efforts to those groups to increase the overall pool of talent you can source from. But that would be logical and not based on a racist view.

No question that DEI hiring practices are naturally suspect in a situation like this but I still think that helicopter was flying too high for that location and someone on board should have known. Controllers should have pointed this out, too.
Possibly critical note directly from a controller: the controller did not KNOW exactly at which altitude the copter was flying. Their screens only show 100' intervals-fly at 260', it shows 300. Fly at 240', it shows 200.

The more I hear, the more I think this is, unfortunately, on the copter pilot.

And ATC. They were understaffed. You can't do that in congested airspace. 6 other near midairs over the last couple of weeks are testament to that.

I agree: Reagan National Airport should be shut down IMMEDIATELY.

Not shut down, but limited to half of what they are currently dealing with on a day to day basis.

Shut down, and the runways bulldozed so it cannot reopen. The only thing surprising about the midair is that it took this long.

Maybe. It was originally built to get legislators and VIPs in out of Washington. It was built to handle 15 million passengers annually. It now handles 25 million.

With all the flights going in and out is they are doing something the FAAtries to prohibit. Usingthe crossing runways at the same time.

If you watch the video one plane is taking off from runway 1. The one that was hit was landng at 33. It was supposed to go to one but ATC changed it.

Yeah, I saw that.
