Breaking News. Plane crash in DC. Collided with either helicopter or drone over Potomac.

The only thing I could come up with on suspicious passengers. . . possibly? Is if those figure skaters were spies?

I heard a different theory on it today. I'll PM you the link to it though, it'll probably sound too crazy to most folks here. lol

Btw, in my view, whenever the government immediately suggests or implies who the culprit is, I tend to think they're planting the seed for a scapegoat...or one of the scapegoats. But I just don't buy it. Especially when statements like that are made too quickly, immediately after something like this.

Runway 33 crossing over the larger and more used Runway 1 is a hazard waiting to happen if not timed right. It could result in a collision with another aircraft landing/taking off on Runway 1.

BTW, the American Airlines craft was reported as a Dash-8 turbo-Prop.

Correction.
Not a Dash-8, but a

Change from a runway at 10 degrees bearing to a runway at 330 degrees bearing.

That's a risky maneuver so close to an approach.

When I was stationed in Roosey Roads, there were some planes from a Carrier Air Group doing touch and goes late at night. When they were finished, they began lining up for a final landing but were giving the flight controller a hard time and ignoring his commands. Jet jockies, doncha know. They all think they are Tom Cruise and the main character in a movie.

So the supervisor took over and began giving orders.

Once the planes were all set, he turned to the junior controller and said, "That's how you do it."

Just as a giant fireball rose above the runway.

Turns out the lead plane's exterior lights went out at a crucial moment, and the plane behind him didn't see him and landed on top of him.

At the very last second, the lead plane's pilot ejected. Right into the other plane.

The rest of the CAG blasted off to San Juan's airport without notifying the air traffic controllers, so no one knew how many planes were down.

The Commanding Officer himself went into the jungle to count tails.

No idiots blamed DEI. No one blamed a Democrat.

It was just shitty maintenance practices and shitty communication. That's all it takes.

As it happens, every time that particular CAG came to town, there were problems. Landing gear falling off, tools flying off. It was crazy.

When we say conspiracy, set up, smells like-looks like, etc... We just know it right away.

As Trump says it was a "clear" night.
Anyone who's been in a cockpit at night, clear or not, will tell you that it's easy for your vision to distort or tweak.
Heck, some people have that challenge driving a car at night.
The three D of flying can be disorienting in daylight, but more so at night when visibility of other things flying is based on small lights.

Even with NVGs, many a pilot has run into high tension wires.

When they put biometric sensors on Navy pilots, the physicians found the pilots were under more stress making a night landing on a carrier than in combat.

Those are low hours for a lead pilot. His co-pilot, a woman, he was training, had only 500 hours. A typical amount of hours a lead pilot usually has to have is a minimum of 1500 hours. I am curious to know who was piloting at the time of the collision.

To be considered ready for a lead helicopter pilot position, most companies would expect a pilot to have between 1,500 and 2,000 hours of flight time depending on the specific role and company requirements, with some specialized roles like EMS or fire fighting potentially requiring even more experience, sometimes reaching up to 4,000 hours.

Key points to remember:
  • Entry-level jobs:
Pilots with around 1,000 to 1,500 hours may be considered for entry-level helicopter pilot positions.

  • Specialized roles:
EMS, search and rescue, or fire fighting helicopter pilots often require significantly more flight hours due to the demanding nature of the work.

Just for the record.......AI answers are often times wrong so.................

He shouldn’t be speculating about the cause of the accident in any way, shape or form

Especially in a fucking press conference where his only role as president is to express condolences, assure that it’s being investigated and then turn the mic over to the actual experts with actual expertise

That’s what presidents do in these situations

He’s treating it like it’s a fucking social media post

Listen to the terrible 'mistake' that caused DC plane crash, according to air traffic controller

31 Jan 2025 ~~ By Rachel Bowman

An air traffic control veteran with 23 years of experience has revealed the mistake operators made in the moments leading up to the deadly collision in Washington, DC.

The American Airlines jet with 64 people onboard crashed with a US Army helicopter carrying three soldiers over the icy waters of the Potomac River Wednesday night, killing everyone.
The Black Hawk helicopter apparently flew in the jet's path as it landed at Ronald Reagan National Airport.
Investigators working through the wreckage in the Potomac uncovered two black box flight recorders on Thursday night as they attempt to determine what went wrong.
An experienced air traffic controller told DailyMail.com that the air traffic control (ATC) audio that emerged from the crash showed the operator's instructions to the helicopter were 'very ambiguous.'
In the nearly minute-and-a-half recording, ATC operators can be heard asking the helicopter if the commercial flight is in sight.
Through muffled audio, more commands and confirmations are made between ATC operators.
One air traffic controller said to the helicopter pilot: 'PAT 2-5, do you have the CRJ in sight?'
Seconds later, the controller spoke again, requesting: 'Pat 2-5 pass behind the CRJ.'
The veteran air traffic controller, who has worked in six different airports throughout the country, said that if those commands were the Black Hawk's first reference to the plane, the instructions were unclear.
'It would have been very ambiguous as far as, "Okay, what plane? Well, where am I looking?"' he said.
'Whenever you give directions to people, we use the 12 points on a clock. Let's say 12 o'clock is north. If I say, "Look to your nine o'clock" that would mean look to your left or to the west.
'So, if I had a helicopter that was coming into my airspace and I wanted him to see an airplane, I would say, "PAT 2-5 traffic, nine o'clock, three miles regional jet inbound to the airport."
He noted that air traffic controllers have a massive responsibility to give accurate and detailed information to pilots.

TC staff numbers at Reagan National Airport on Wednesday were 'not normal for the time of day and volume of traffic', and controllers were more overworked than usual, according to an internal preliminary Federal Aviation Administration safety report seen by the New York Times.
Reagan National has been understaffed for many years, with just 19 fully certified controllers as of September 2023 - well below the target of 30 - according to the most recent Air Traffic Controller Workforce Plan submitted to Congress.
Controllers frequently work 10 hours daily, six days a week, to fill the void.
The preliminary crash report detailed that the lack of staff meant the controller monitoring and directing helicopters near DCA was also instructing planes to land and depart on the runways.
Usually two controllers would handle these roles, as staff use two different radio frequencies to talk to planes and helicopter pilots.
While the controller is talking to them, the pilots of each aircraft may not be able hear each other.

Commentary:
So it was the error of the ATC at the control Tower not Pilot error that cause the crash.
I would say that, expecting someone to regularly work ten hour shifts in such an intense job requiring no margin for a single error or lapse in concentration, it is miraculous that these types of disasters aren't commonplace.
Additionally, the hiring of DEI over qualified people is wrong,
Will this investigation expose the number of DEI hires that jeopardize our air traffic and will the new director increase the number of openings and reduce the number hours employees are required to presently work?

Well it's highly possible at least.

The moment that I heard that it took place in Washington DC my radar started going off that it was possibly intentional.

How is he being unpresidential? He said one comment about the DEI part that I can remember whereas YOU keep going on and on about it.
But, why?

I give zero shits about what Trump said. Your op was a babbling mess of bullshit and you are still posting bullshit.

Somebody is responsible for this accident when the various agencies finish their investigations we will know who is to blame. Your gleeful gotcha moment over Trumps stupid comments is fucking disgusting and typical for the low brow crap I've come to expect from ignorant leftest morons .

By the way I didn't vote for Trump. Fucking idiot.
Trump and his clown show are responsible and he is deflrcting for the benefit of his moronic followers, People like you who now look retarded.

You just said striving for greatness is not a value. Nothing to do with “perfect.”

if it turns out this tragedy WAS pilot error, why don’t you tell the families, “oh well, nobody’s perfect.”

SMH at these libs.
Its easier to make up shit without any facts. Trump has achieved gretness in that discipline.

Sounds like we need Elon Musk and AI to create zones around the airport that will prevent this from happening again.

If the deep state democrats rinos and bureaucrats spent less time figuring out how to frame the innocent as well as how to skim money I to their po let's this never would of happened

Just imagine if all the billions of dollars wasted on carbon/climate change research was spent on air traffic control solutions, this never would of happened.

Maybe we should replace all the idiots on government with illegal aliens or H-1B visa workers.
Maybe not sack the head of the agency the week before and not give notice to every employee.

Its easier to make up shit without any facts. Trump has achieved gretness in that discipline.
Oh, and the antisemitic Brit weighs in: what the hell did I “make up”? That prioritizing skin color over competence lowers the overall workforce?
