Breaking: Mexican President agrees to one month pause of tariffs, offers troops to police border

Well, my view is that we have a one party system masquerading as two... so I don't think it was only the Democrats. Although I agree with you that the Dems openly pursue policies that create the border problem. I think they work together, sort of like bad cop / good cop. That's what I meant when I said the government...not just the Dems, but the whole system.

As for Trump, I don't want to get into it right now, but as I've said many times, I believe he's controlled opposition, so I just disagree with most here about him being the "hero."
A year ago I might have partially agreed with you. But OMB is hardly 'controlled opposition'. Both Bush Buoys were. Mittens was the poster buoy for male sterilization, McCain was a POS. A brave man, a survivor but a broken man. Might have been suffering from Stockholm Syndrome but can't be sure....... Not 100% sure, anyway.

But if you think OMB is controlled opposition, then you should either give up, surrender and knuckle under or move to another Planet.

I do not. I think Trump is the real deal. Why else would a Multi Billionaire go through the BS? At his age, it isn't about the money. Money is power so it isn't about power.

All he had to do was retire from politics and he would have been left alone so it isn't about running from the Law. The Alvin Braggs and Tish James and Fat Fani Willis' of the Country (funny thing -- They all be black) would have left him alone.

Nope, Trump is the real deal. I hope, for your sake, that you're not a complete malcontent, that you don't always make The Perfect an enemy of The Good. If you do, you will never be happy. About anything. Ever.

And that's just sad

Thanks for your thoughts. I have a number of reasons for my view, but like I mentioned to NetJedi, I'm not going to get into all that right now. Not only because I have to get ready to be somewhere in a bit, but also because it would take the thread off topic.

But no, actually that view doesn't make me malcontent. Because I look at the bigger picture. As a Christian, I know who the temporary ruler of this world is, and who the true ruler is. Everything happening in the world right now is biblical. So no, I have no fear or despair over any of this stuff, because I know who wins in the end. As it says in Psalms 146:3-6, I don't put my trust or hope in politicians or human kings... but in the true King, and the only one who can be trusted.

Has Trudeau offered free maple syrup for life for every American yet?

Trump should hold out for that.
Stop the flow of guns into Mexico! :auiqs.jpg:

More guns flow into Mexico than flow into the U.S. — a fact that Vice President J.D. Vance was corrected on during the vice-presidential debate.

In Trump's readout of the call, the White House neglected to mention that the new president agreed to stop U.S. guns crossing the border, CNBC confirmed.

Canada is on the Trump Train too.

What a Continent we have here!

And if caught go to prison

Your point? They aren’t the only ones
News Flash: from a few articles

The Biden administration made Narcan, a nasal spray version of the overdose-reversal medication naloxone, available without a prescription and broadened access to medications to treat opioid addiction.

One of Evelyn Tharp’s sons died of a drug overdose. So did her brother. And two nephews and a niece. Her surviving son and daughter wrestle with severe mental illness and drug use.

Each week, Coyne drops by the family’s home in the hardscrabble Price Hill neighborhood. She ferries Tharp’s 44-year-old daughter to receive medication that treats opioid addiction. Coyne has arranged many stays at hospitals and treatment centers for Tharp’s 39-year-old son — and revived him multiple times after finding him unconscious from overdoses.

“He’d be dead if not for Sarah,” Tharp, 67, said.

The story of Hamilton County, which includes Cincinnati, is the story of much of America at the start of 2025. Deaths from drug overdoses have fallen sharply, offering hope the crisis will further ease. Here, as in many communities ravaged by the opioid crisis, users are adapting to an evolving illicit drug supply dominated by potent fentanyl and often mixed with other synthetic drugs. At the same time, lifesaving antidotes flood the streets, and teams swoop in to offer services to people who have overdosed.

...

The reduction in deaths is not distributed evenly. A national decline probably reflects sharp decreases in more populous states that began in mid-2023, said Nabarun Dasgupta, an epidemiologist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In many states, declines in deaths started even earlier, he said. “The Trump administration is inheriting an encouraging landscape of declining overdoses,” Dasgupta said.

In states where illegal fentanyl may have permeated more recently — such as Alaska and Nevada — officials note increases in fatal overdoses.

Changes in the ingredients of illegal drugs may also play a significant role in reducing deaths.

In Ohio as in many states, fentanyl dealers add drugs such as the animal tranquilizer xylazine, which prolongs the sedating effect but also causes nasty flesh wounds. Paradoxically, the mix may save lives, staving off opioid withdrawal so that users may consume less fentanyl each day, Dasgupta said. “Fewer rolls of the dice,” he said.

I am sure there are some Americans in the cartels

Your point?
Stopping immigrants from entering will not stop the flow of the drug Trump's tirades are about.

Trumpieboi is a phony bologna - a showboater - a headline grabber -- a douche and a convicted felon.

Nobody is trying to stop immigrants from coming

They are trying to stop illegal immigrants from coming

That is a seperate issue from dealing with drugs, but certainly related to the cartels who under xiden started really pushing their human trafficking business due to hin surrendering the border

Immigrant categories: Distinction without much of a difference.

The Cartels aren't to blame for the drugs entering and certainly aren't to blame for the poor choices made by people lucking enough to be born in America.

Look at the family profiled here:

It's pathetic. While I feel for them, they get very little sympathy from me. I can empathize without crying a river for the poor choices a whole family makes. Blame the Cartels?

Give me a break

Let's get serious about the drug epidemic.
