No wonder Kathy Griffin is panicking and apologizing. She lost CNN, "Squatty Potty", and gigs at casinos so far. Who knows if there are more on the horizon. She sees the writing on the wall. California is unaffordable for a celebrity with little or no income.

It's good to know that they do take it seriously. However, I would be disappointed if they take any action against her. A direct and credible threat deserves actions. But I think we can safely say this falls under freedom of speech. I don't think this idiot was actually planning any sort of attack against the President of the United States.
