He claims he was going for a routine drive when the killings took place.

In the court documents, his attorneys claim "Mr. Kohberger has long had a habit of going for drives alone," and that he did so on the night and morning of the brutal killings.

"Mr. Kohberger is not claiming to be at a specific location at a specific time; at this time there is not a specific witness to say precisely where Mr. Kohberger was at each moment of the hours between late night November 12, 2022, and early morning November 13, 2022," the filing said.
Well, there you have it folks. That oughta get him off.

What do you think of the plea deal?

Kohberger, who was previously facing the death penalty, will instead receive four consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole. He has also waived his right to appeal the sentence.

The families are not happy but think about how much money the state saved. No trial. No appeals. And he will never see the light of day again.

I don't like it because it's a slam dunk case. Why give this guy a deal? The trial was open and shut.

Interesting that you asked me. But, since you did, this is my opinion: Nothing is a sure thing, even if he had been found guilty, which wasn't even a sure thing. Yes, there was a high probability he would have been found guilty, but not 100%. The sentencing would not have even been a sure thing, again, not 100%. The plea deal is a sure thing. It's a sure thing that he pleaded guilty and will spend the rest of his life behind bars. No variables of any kind, including parol.

And, unlike most conservatives, I'm actually against the death penalty anyway. I never could wrap my head around abortion is murder but we're OK with purposely murdering those on death row. And, he will probably pay a higher price being in jail for decades and decades than getting the easier way out.

It's funny how people with empathy like you and I will even feel sorry for these guys. Like, we wouldn't be okay with torturing him for the next 30 years right? So we give them TV, a job, radio, internet, lift weights, time to hang out and cause trouble, etc. I've seen those prison shows. As bad as it is, I'm sure eventually you get used to it. Like Luigi. He's not in hell right now in prison. His parents probably give him commissary money which makes you popular in prison. Someone who can trade.

I sure would like to take the tv and weights away. Even the commissary money. **** you eating ho ho's. You eat 3 squares a day. Oatmeal for breakfast, a salad for lunch and 1 dinner (chicken/beef/fish) every day. That's it.

For what he did, he deserves to die. And it's insane this isn't an open and shut case.
