We might be the richest country, but that wealth is concentrated in just a few hands. And THAT is what YOU have either forgotten or are ignorant of.

I think the worst thing about the Democrats is their constant striving to centralize power over every aspect of our lives. This only serves to make it easier for special interests to capture that power. One stop shopping.

And then the Democrats are shocked, shocked at how much more money is spent in federal politics, while blind to the fact this is happening because special interests are spending that money on capturing that power they created.

This capturing of power is the very thing keeping everyone else trapped on the plantation.

I think that's the point. Historically, the US has had a remarkable, perhaps unique, cohesive society made up of all races, religions and financial means.

imo, that took a hit when W lied us into two wars that destroyed our military and devasted tens of thousands of military families (not that anyone gives a shit about them since the draft ended) and then Obama had to service his ego. Even Biden had more bipartisan success.
