I don't know. Eleven years seems excessive for a non violent crime that did little or no material harm to America or Americans. Abuse of power unacceptable yes. Deserving of prison time. Yes. But many criminals committing violent crime get lighter sentences. I think 5 years and then a lengthy probation and maybe imposed restrictions doing overseas business would have been sufficient.

But hooray for a deserved conviction. Most likely a whole lot more of those need to happen to restore honor, honesty and integrity to Congress.
