There were many reasons to stop the flight, and the judge was correct to stop the flight.
And in fact, the SCOTUS said they have to be returned.

New flights can only be done if they are sent to their country of origin and have due process hearings.
That does not make the flight with Kilmar on it legal in any way.

You have it backwards.
Elected by the majority is actually mob rule, and is the lowest for of government.
But judges are appointed by the elected representatives, so then are selected by the best of those who represent the will of the people.
You can't do any better than that, and judges are vastly better than presidents of congressmen.
