The board is currently on version 3.06 while the latest released version is 3.5.4.
There are many security releases that make this an obvious choice but the software is also much nicer and easier to navigate. Not to mention support eventually expires if you don't keep up with the upgrades. Having 3.5 when the latest is 3.5.4 is ok but having a 3.0.x version is not acceptable to me for a variety of reasons.
When the time comes, the board will be down for approx. 1 hour or so to upgrade the back end files and to rearrange a few things to give it the same feel as the current board.
My concern is that you 'may' lose certain changes when upgrading, and then these changes may need to be reapplied on the new board. This 'may' include the right sidebar where the stats and advertising are, today's stats at the bottom of the board, VBchat, added search feature just below navigation bar at top of board... also, I have many on the back end for administration that will require to be re-installed as well. All of these functions are modifications that are installed AFTER the default software, and is not supported by VB, which is why you likely lose some after a standard upgrade.
If there are any features you are attached to that you don't want to lose, please mention them here and I'll make sure the new upgrade includes what you guys like most. Maybe other features you've seen on other boards as well...
