I've been immersed in science, mathematics and engineering almost my entire life (even as far back as when I was an atheist) you could learn so much from us theists if you'd just walk away from the dark side, walk away from your unquestioning devotion to scientism and feel the force.

I was an atheist when I watched this TV series too as a teenager, still a very good series even though he's an evolutionist. The man predates Dawkins and is a much better scientist (he was a physicist before embracing biology and evolution)

It was so long ago I don't recall my science high school teacner talking of the 'moon, but he did tell we students about a valuagle book one can read about the eay the Eartth stood still. What he did not say is the Sun stopped.
His explanation involves Venus. He told us that Venus is a very recent discovery by man. That it did not show up until recent times. Most students do not know of this. They have not read books talking about the time Venus first showed up to man. And when it showed up to man, man thought the Earth stopped spinning. The concept is that the planet Venus as if got closer to Earth had the mass sufficient to stop both planets from spinning and change directions of spinning.
