After visiting the Octoberfest two young US-American men went home over a bridge and decided - what never anyone else had done before in decades - to urinate over a bridge railing. Perhaps they thought about your general Patton who urinated on mysterious reasons into the Rhine in World War 2. But it was not World War 2 and the bridge was for a railway. They urinated directly into an electric high voltage device. What to say? Death has humor? ¿Really?

Or I remember in the mountains some tourists stood at a bridge while a gigantic wave rolled down the little river. Germans not far away screamed like crazy and shouted “get off the bridge” and waved their arms and hands to show that the people should get off the bridge as quickly as possible. But looks like this tourists - everyone thought it had been Americans because they did not react - lived in their own film. They still joked and made pictures - they had been fascinated from this wave - until they understood that this was reality and no film. When they started to run it was too late. The wave dragged them into the abyss.

In general 2 important steps for everyone who helps in whatever situation:

(1) self-protection
(2) call for help (in whole Europe call phone number 112)
Take your time to answer all questions.
Inform yourselve what to do and/or inform the people on the phone what's your plan what you like to do.

And never underestimate an escalating situation. If possible try to deescalate. To be a so called hero is in very most cases not the best strategy.
