They were protesting at Wegmans because they have closed all their inner city stores. They were pointing out food deserts. However, Wegmans isn't where low income people shop. They're expensive.

They probably got tired of having their inner-city stores robbed at gunpoint. Or the shoplifters.

They say it's because Wegmans is focusing now on superstores (which they are) and the ones in the city were small stores (which they were). I have heard some businesses say that about shoplifting and robberies, but Wegman's didn't. And like I said, they've become a fancy, suburban type chain for people who can spend the extra pennies for the ambience and gourmet foods.

I'm guessing shoppers may have had to wait a couple minutes for police to arrive and ensure the crowd of protestors was not there to hurt anyone. And then the people in the store left and the store shut down. Those who were almost done with their shopping and had to leave it to evacuate were probably kinda annoyed though. In the real photos of customers leaving, I didn't see any shopping carts.

Message to Wegmans requesting stores be brought back into the inner cities due to food deserts.

its what peaceful protestors do . Then they went to a community Center played UNO released balloons and danced in the streets. Neighbors came out set up lawn chairs and joined the festivities.

And there is talk on this thread about the need for mass executions.

No, I read the article about it from the Rochester paper, the Democrat and Chronicle. It showed shoppers leaving, escorted by cops, with protestors hunkered down writing on the pavement. I don't recall it saying anything about protestors trapping them, but with all that commotion outside, of course they locked the doors and waited for the police to give the all clear.
