Judge Patrick Schiltz said the grand jury subpoenas were ‘no doubt’ aimed at punishing Walz for refusing to aid immigration crackdown.

A federal judge has thrown out Justice Department grand jury subpoenas aimed at Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and his allies, calling them an abusive and retaliatory process to punish Walz based on his refusal to assist President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.

In a blistering ruling, U.S. District Judge Patrick Schiltz said there was “no doubt” that the subpoenas were issued to damage Walz — part of what he said was a pattern of Trump administration efforts to use criminal process to punish the president’s adversaries.

Initiating a criminal investigation in order to harass political opponents or to coerce them into taking official action — particularly official action that the federal government cannot directly require those political opponents to take — is a blatantly unlawful and unethical use the grand-jury process,” Schiltz wrote in a 29-page ruling dated June 17 but unsealed Monday.

How dare Governor Walz stand up for justice. This is clear vindictive prosecution on part Trump's DOJ.

What's in the subpoena? Seems like the story never bothered to actually report that.

So sloppy. Typical for Politico.

What “justice” is Walz standing up for?

He allowed rampant tax fraud in his state.

A blocked subpoena won’t help him. He can still be criminally referred for charges. That’s probably the best way.

Your narrative is a giant FAIL.

There is a mountain of evidence of fraud and abuse, including state workers (even state workers!) who tried to raise alarm bells but were silenced by Walz or his administration.

Sad day for America when one bought and paid for “judge” can trounce the DOJ

I can't tell if that's a joke or not. Are you being sarcastic?

True or False.... Tampon Tim knew about the massive fraud in his state for at least 10 years, according to last I read.
And he did nothing about it, while fraudsters and non-citizens were collecting millions, and we know they were funneling some of that money back to pro-democrat fund raising organizations.

Walz stood up for what justice? Be specific. What justice was Tampon Tim standing up for?

A subpoena is not punishment.
