How much more do we have to pay? We are paying more than $5000 a month for my mother’s apartment in a senior living facility, where her meals are provided and all cleaning done and meds administered, PLUS $25/hr for an unskilled, uneducated aide whose English would not enable her to get any other work. Earning $50,000 a year is pretty good.

If what you are paying does not get a qualified person, then you are paying too much. Or up the pay and get a real professional. $50,000 is pretty good for an illegal immigrant. But not great for a trained, American citizen.

2) She’s not an illegal. Why would you jump to that conclusion?

I witness families get destroyed in the 80’s as these life long builders had government crack down on them from not having proper certification, dads became alcoholics. Kids started to run the streets. Daughters became whores. Many of the talented builders can’t read, or they dropped out of school because they can work with their handsome no gov regulations should put Americas talented in poverty, we built this country without Worker’s Comp.. don’t like it moved to Venezuela. I witnessed families destroyed because the breadwinner died in a workplace accident. No coming back from that. Or had medical bills pile up because they were hurt at work and had to pay their own medical bills.

If someone cannot read, they will always be handicapped by that. A talented builder will always have work.

Blaming gov't regulations for alcoholism, kids running the streets, daughters becoming whores and people doing hard drugs is just ridiculous. Make bad choices and you will regret it. Rather than do away with needed safety regulations, how about we bring back being responsible for the choices you make in your life.
