When I think of Eloi, I think of the vegan, effete, precious, easily frightened, unresourceful left. Unable to care for themselves and needing to be fed, clothed, and sheltered by The Morlocks who ... in their benevolence, only eat a few of them, from time-to-time, when their numbers need culling.

Funny thing, in Wells original work, the Morlocks were the descendants of the working classes while the Eloi ( a pampered and idyll people who were being used as food) were the descendants of the investor class.
