about a decade ago, a black cop killed his pregnant white wife. yah, yah, I know. dog bites man news story.

but the interesting part was that a newspaper reporter dug into his affirmative action hiring and actually published his bottom 20% ranking, and published it! it was one of the few times that I have ever seen actual numerical data on how far they have to go into the applicant pool to hire the right shade of policeman. I wonder if the top 80% were pleased to know they were passed over for a future murderer.
