Sounds like a personal choice to me. Went to Wal Mart with my father in law last night and got a ham with the bone still in it for 98 cents/lb. Total price of the ham was only 12 bucks.

The bone and some of the ham made a great soup for lunch today.

Probably was. My father in law has a nose for finding the cheapest prices there are. Still, it's good ham, price was right, and we're gonna feast tomorrow.
