It seems to be a pattern. Low IQ individual jailed after a false confession. Happens every day but the police are never accountable.

Even after this there are no fingers being pointed at guilty officers.

Few states have capital punishment, and even fewer actually carry it out. It is unlikely he'd have been executed regardless. As for the arresting officers, after 39 years they would likely be dead.

There have been too many cases like this for years, some of it down to bent cops, the Birmingham six were beaten and at least one had a loaded gun pressed to his head in the police station, like Tommy said with no consequences, that guys life was taken away when he was a young man, you don't get that back.
